The children eagerly engaged in the activity and answered the questions with great interest. It was a pleasure to see how confidently and enthusiastically they shared their knowledge—it turned out they knew much more than I had expected. Their curiosity, genuine interest and willingness to participate made the whole process truly lively and inspiring. Moments like these are especially valuable, as they show how important it is to create an environment where children can open up, express themselves and feel confident in their knowledge.

Dictionary Activity:

Although the children in our group are only three years old, they completed the task wonderfully. Our group was given three letters, and the children did an excellent job with their part of the shared activity. They really enjoyed the task, and the final result turned out colorful and beautiful. We are very proud of our little participants!

The children were given a game in which different pictures depicted different actions. They had to decide whether the action was correct or not and whether it required parental permission. We discussed with the children how much screen time is appropriate for their age and what could replace a phone, computer or tablet.

 ARTQUAKE

*6 Şubat Kahramanmaraş depremleri, toplumdaki bireylerin, özellikle de en savunmasız grup olan çocukların, afetlere hazırlık konusunda sahip oldukları teorik bilgileri, sanatsal yaklaşımlar ve disiplinlerarası eğitim yoluyla somut ve kalıcı davranışlara dönüştürme ihtiyacını vurgulamıştır; böylece dünyanın her yerinde her an meydana gelebilecek afetlere hazırlıksız yakalanmayız. Klasik eğitim yöntemlerinin öğrenciler ve öğretmenler üzerinde yarattığı kaygı ve bilgi bombardımanı, afetlere hazırlığı bir yaşam biçimi haline getirmeyi zorlaştırmaktadır. Projemiz, afet eğitimini korku kaynağı olmaktan çıkarıp öğrencilerin hayal gücünü kullanarak yönetilebilir bir sürece dönüştürmeyi, iklim değişikliğiyle mücadele önceliğimiz doğrultusunda değişen iklim koşullarından kaynaklanan afet türleri konusunda toplumsal farkındalığı artırmayı ve öğretmenlere karmaşık, teknik bilgileri sanatın disiplinlerarası gücüyle aktarmak için yenilikçi pedagojik araçlar sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Proje, Şubat ve Mayıs 2026 tarihleri ​​arasında Türkiye ve Romanya'daki ortak okullarda 6-11 yaş arası öğrencilerle gerçekleştirilecektir.
ARTQUAKE
The February 6th Kahramanmaraş earthquakes highlighted the need for individuals in society, especially the most vulnerable group—children—to transform their theoretical knowledge of disaster preparedness into concrete and lasting behaviors through artistic approaches and interdisciplinary education; so that we are not caught unprepared for disasters that can occur anywhere in the world at any time. The anxiety and information overload created by classical education methods on students and teachers make it difficult to make disaster preparedness a way of life. Our project aims to transform disaster education from a source of fear into a manageable process using students' imagination, to increase social awareness about the types of disasters caused by changing climate conditions in line with our priority of combating climate change, and to provide teachers with innovative pedagogical tools to convey complex, technical information through the interdisciplinary power of art. The project will be implemented with students aged 6-11 in partner schools in Turkey and Romania between February and May 2026.
